![]() ![]() Any ideas/solutions/new leads would be appreciated. Based on my perusal of solutions, I provided my system information above since it seems to be relevant somehow. I Googled using my error message and searched through the first two pages of my results but didn't find any solutions that worked. > capabilities() jpeg png tiff tcltk X11 aqua http/ftp TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE TRUE TRUE sockets libxml fifo cledit iconv NLS profmem TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE cairo ICU long.double libcurl TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE Problem solved Change the settings back when you are done with XQuartz. Relocate the external screen to the right of the main screen. Once again, you can open this folder by selecting Go Downloads. Once the download has finished, open your Downloads folder in the Finder. ![]() Click the box labelled Mac OS X 10.7 Installer (xquartz) to download the DMG file, which contains the installer. When using XQuartz, I tried the following: Open Mac System Preferences>Displays, click on Arrangement Tap. Using a web browser, go to the Inkscape 0.92.2 downloads page. > Sys.getenv("DISPLAY") "/private/tmp/1bsaVCA43/:0" As mentioned by others, this issue may be caused by a totally different coordinate system of X11. > x11( width=3, height=3) Error in x11(width = 3, height = 3) : X11 is not available I have R 3.2.3 and am running OSX El Capitan version 10.11.4 (15E65). I loaded that library, tried again, but got the same error. I did ?x11() and saw that it is from the package. I have definitely plotted things in R that loaded the XQuartz program to display. To recreate my error, I ran x11() and got the following: > x11() But definitely ask and I can at least point you in some 'm following along some code and get an error related to X11. It's just that likely I won't be much help. Or if it seems to fit with the discussion, feel free to ask a question or comment in one of those bug reports.Īnd I don't mean to imply I won't answer you. There is a development IRC channel, but the person who has your answer isn't necessarily going to be logged on when you are. You might be more likely not to get overlooked, if you post in the User mailing list. Or actually, the Devel list is full of hackfest mail lately. Close XQuartz (and Inkscape) Change the Mission Control Preferences (unselect Display have separate spaces) Log out Start Inkscape Change the Windows. You can reach developers most reliably via the Devel mailing list. But if you should need more answers, I'll refer you to developers. I'll have to mostly leave you on your own with those, since they are mostly over my head (plus not being a Mac user). (Developers don't like a lot of chit chat, and tend to say volumes in just a few words So you need to read them very closely, and follow the links. Also, note that often fixes for a lot of bugs can be very short, almost offhand comments. I won't go any further after finding that one! But for all of these, be sure and follow all the links, especially links to related bug reports. This one starts out about Windows, but there are some comments about Mac issues as you read through: ![]() Although it's probably too complex of a problem, to minimize it like that. But if it happens on other systems, that might point more to Inkscape, I guess. This one is on Windows: Until I saw that, I thought it was Mac issue. But high dpi isn't the same thing as high resolution, is it? I don't know about the multiple screens. I would think that putting everything back to where it was before, and of course with restarting the whole system, should fix it.Īs far as I understand, a fix for the high dpi screens is coming in the next major version release. Before your answer came I tried to reinstall inkscape and xquartz (is it necessary I think I dont have it on mini) and ended up in a situation where inkscape didnt want to start at all - it was freeezing after showing. I can't recall exactly what the solutions were, for the others who had this problem. hard to find unless you have mad searching skills). Oh 's just been a few messages like yours that I see from time to time (over probably 8 years since I first heard about it). ![]()
